The lunch of a trial phase of child protection app linked to Abu Dhabi Police.

The Himayati (my protection) is an app linked to Abu Dhabi Police, that allows parents to receive alerts from their children if they are in danger.

It can be downloaded for free, can only be activated by parents, and the estimated response time of the police is four minutes.

It is available now for Android phones, and will also be released for the Apple, Blackberry and Windows operating systems.

Major General Nasser Al Nuaimi, secretary general at the Office of the Interior Ministry, said that parents can request an immediate police help when receiving an alert using the app by pressing a button on their phones.

It is expected that other police offices in the UAE will eventually be linked to the system.

The app has many other features such as location sending and allowing parents to set their children’s expected arrival and departure times from schools. The application benefits authorities also by helping them to respond faster to emergencies.

 

 

When Cousins Congregate !

Cousins are not only family members but friends and their congregation makes them naughty. This story occurred four years ago, when my cousins and I gathered at my grandfather’s house.

We decided to steel the driver’s car at midnight and go to a Safari trip. None of us had a driving license, but we made this decision as an crazy adventure. We were eight girls and one guy who took the responsibility of driving us to Awafi; an open desert area for enjoying safari adventures. We went there, spent two hours of fun, rode bikes, enjoyed a safari trip and went back home. The surprise was that my grandfather was awake and he was waiting for us. Once we arrived he asked all of us, the girls, to go inside the home. The only one who was asked to stay is my male cousin. My grandfather blamed him as he was the only male and he was grounded for a week.

This is one of the most unforgettable stories that I wanted to share, and it is the most common and repetitive type of adventures  I did with my cousins.

Let It Snow

Let It Snow is a series of three unified stories written by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. It center around the Waffle House of Grace town, North Carolina, on the snowiest Christmas in 50 years.
The first story is “The Jubilee Express”, it talks about a girl named Jubilee as she is naturally ordered onto a train on Christmas Eve, which unfortunately crashes into a snow drift. She decided to get off the train and take refuge in the Waffle House nearby that begins series of unexpected events that prevailed throughout the rest of the book. Jubilee narrates the story in a unique and universally pleasant style.
The second narrative is called “A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle” that is written by the modern king of young adult fiction, John Green. It talks about a story of Tobin and his friends and their trip through a blizzard to the well-known Waffle House to pursuit the cheerleaders and hash browns. The third story, “The Patron Saint of Pigs,” is about a girl named Addie, who wants to be less self-centered and went to a local pet store to pick up a previously paid for teacup piglet for her friend. It’s written by Lauren Myracle who presents great, wrap-up conclusion to the novel in which all characters are united in one substantial resolution.
To conclude, I choose to write about this book because it involves humor, relatable teenage drama, reflection of life, attractive stories of love and friendship, and the substantial difficulties and benefits of human relationships.

My Sister’s Keeper

My Sister’s Keeper is a movie that is a great example of storytelling, directed by Nick Cassavetes. It talks about a story of a couple whose lives are centered around their daughter Kate. Kate was diagnosed with leukemia from young age and doctors gave her little time to live. Kate’s parents wanted to save their child’s life. They undertook a decision to duplicate Kate’s chromosomes by conceiving another child. They have used Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis technique to create a donor, who will donate blood or whatever else is necessary for saving Kate. The 11 years old, Ana, is the child created in order to serve as a matched tissue donor for her elder sister Kate. Anna started donating form the moment she was born. She has donated blood, bone marrow, stem cells, and has been told to donate one of her kidneys. As the film progresses, Anna sued her parents for the right of her own body. This was what the viewers believed, until later they found out the real motivation behind the lawsuit, which was Kate’s decision to end her life and put an end for Anna’s suffering.
